Page Banner Enhancements
The Page Banner has received a couple of enhancements.
- We’ve added a logo option, this appears above the Banner Title field
- We’ve added an option to hide the action bar at the page level
Blog Enhancements
Blog Filter
The Blog Filter has been completely revamped. It used to only support categories, it now supports categories, tags, archives, and authors. It also has a new keyword search feature.
New Blog Settings
You can find new Blog settings inside of the WordPress OPTIONS menu. Here, you can select if you would like to display categories, tags, archives, and authors in the Blog Filter.
Addition of Sitewide Announcement Bar
We’ve added a site wite announcement bar to the theme. A number of people asked for it during the pandemic when businesses were experiencing uncertainty. It is only designed to hold a small amount of text and a link.
If you need to share a large amount of information, we recommend that you make a page and link the announcement bar to that page.
Option Menu Enhancements
In the Header settings, there is now:
- A Parallax Scroll setting for the banner images
- A Navigation Gradient setting. This adds a gradient behind the navigation to give the logo and navigation more contrast.
- A Sitewide Annoucement Bar. Handy for emergecies like pandemics.
- New Blog settings
- Added new setting to support Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID
LaLa Block Enhancements
We have added many new LaLa Blocks
All the blocks are styled to match the LaLa Theme 4 parent theme. For the most part, the new blocks will inherit your child-theme styles. There might be some instances where the block has a new style that is not accommodated by your child theme. In which case, please contact us and we can give you an estimate to customize the new blocks to match your website’s style.

Adding Style to the WP Editor
The power of the Gutenberg Page Editor is evolving fast and we are trying to keep up! One of the things are working on is improving the style of the LaLa Blocks in the WordPress Editor. The blocks are being styled to match the LaLa Theme 4 Parent theme.
We can also custom style them to match your own website’s style. Unfortunately, the WP Editor’s stylesheet is completely separate from the front-end of the website, so it has to be styled separately. If this is something you would like, please reach out we can give you an estimate on how much it would cost to style your editor.
LaLa Block Icons
In the WordPress editor’s block menu, you will now see all the LaLa Blocks grouped together under the LALA BLOCKS label. In addition, the LaLa Block’s Icons are teal. This makes the icons easier to find when you are searching the icon library.
Block Previews
We have started working on adding block previews. You might see some LaLa Blocks with preview images inside of the WP Block Editor menu. Soon they will all have a block preview image.
Added Support for Third-Party Blocks
Other plugins are also adding blocks. It’s pretty cool! In order to support them, we need to add them into the website’s page container or else they span the entire width of the screen (which looks really odd).
We now support
- Jetpack Blocks
- WooCommerce Blocks
- Formidable Blocks
Please let us know if you come across any other blocks families that need support, we are happy to add them.
Animation Enhancements
We’ve been adding small animations to Theme 4 and to the LaLa Blocks. The text might fade or slide in, to give the user a more interesting experience. Over the course of the next year, you can expect to see more of this.
